Idler wheels are a key component in maintaining proper track tension and guidance, which translates to appropriate track winding. They work in conjunction with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for undercarriage longevity. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts machine wear and performance. For instance, an overly tight chain can lead to greater wear of track bushings and sprocket teeth. Proper tread hardness, equal to or greater than chain links and support rollers, provides damage resistance and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardness 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication helps minimize maintenance during operation.
